Are you tired of putting up a temporary fence just to have your livestock tear it down? If you’re looking for high-quality, long-lasting temporary fencing products, Pasture Management has the solutions you need. Whether you’re looking to keep your cattle confined in one section of your pasture for rotational grazing or you’re tired of deer tearing up your summer garden, a poly fence is a low-cost, effective option to keep animals in or out of a particular area. Through years of using the product ourselves, we offer poly products that stand out for their superior construction, featuring a higher number of thick metal strands woven throughout. This enhanced design improves conductivity, allowing electricity to travel smoothly and efficiently along the entire fence line.
No matter your budget or need, Pasture Management has a poly fence for you. Check out the four different types of poly fence below to figure out which best suits the needs of your operation.
Polywire
Polywire is ideal for general farm uses such as managing cattle. Strands in the polywire are made of Polyethylene, which is twisted around metal conductors. It’s a flexible but durable material that’s simple to work with in various applications. Because it’s lightweight and effective for temporary fencing, it’s ideal for general everyday farm needs. It’s available in three different options:
- 6-strand stainless steel
- 9-strand stainless steel
- 6-strand copper and stainless steel blend
Polybraid
For a more durable temporary fence for stronger livestock like cattle and aggressive goats, polybraid is the way to go. It’s made from strands of polyethylene braided around metal conductors, which creates a thick and strong barrier with a higher breaking strength than polywire. This increases a stronger resistance to tension, making polybraid the premier option for aggressive livestock. Due to its high breaking point and durability, it’s the best option for managing forceful livestock on the farm. It’s available in:
- 9-strand stainless steel
- 9-strand copper and stainless steel blend
Polyrope is ¼ inch in diameter, which makes it thicker and more visible than the previous two options mentioned above. Its features make it ideal for confining horses or excluding deer. Polyrope is constructed with durable polyethylene strands formed into a rope design around metal conductors. It’s easier for animals to see and has a higher breaking point than polywire. Consider these three types of polyrope when deciding which is best for your operation:
- Patriot 6-strand stainless steel
- 9-strand copper and stainless steel blend
- HorseSafe Copper Braided Rope
Polytape
Polytape offers the highest visibility of the electric fence material, which makes it an excellent choice for horse containment or deer exclusion. It’s constructed in a woven design with stainless steel conductors that provide reliability and flexibility. Because of its strong visibility, it helps animals to clearly see the fence and reduces the likelihood of unwanted contact. It’s available as:
- 5-strand thick stainless steel
- 6-strand stainless steel
- 13-strand stainless steel
